The Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University is seeking two leaders in Pediatric Education. Positions are as follows: Position 1 – National Leader In Pediatric Educational Scholarship
The Stanford University, Department of Pediatrics is seeking an educational scholar to join the Department as an Associate Professor or Professor in the University Medical Line. Candidates must be board certified in Pediatrics and have a substantial record of scholarship in medical education. The major criteria for appointment in the University Medical Line include excellence in clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service. Academic rank will be determined by qualifications and experience. We seek an educational scholar with a history of impactful, innovative, and evidence-based publications that advance pediatric education, plus a portfolio of funded research in education. The successful candidate will mentor the next generation of pediatric scholars in medical education. Responsibilities include:
Conduct and disseminate educational scholarship
Mentor others to become educational leaders and scholars
Be involved in national educational organizations and support others in developing national involvement and leadership
Position 2 – Associate Chair of Education, Department of Pediatrics, and Assistant Dean of GME, Stanford Medicine Children’s Health (SMCH)
The Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University is also seeking an educational leader to join as an Associate Professor or Professor in the University Tenure Line, University Medical Line or Clinician Educator Line. Candidates must be board certified in Pediatrics and have substantial experience as an educational leader, mentor, and scholar. The successful candidate will have experience creating educational vision and strategic plans, leading education programs and initiatives, studying the impact of educational interventions, delivering feedback, and providing professional development to learners, faculty, and staff. The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching. The major criteria for appointment in the University Medical Line are excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity, and institutional service. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educator is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship. Academic rank and line will be determined by qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
We are seeking visionary national leaders in pediatric education to drive innovative educational initiatives and enhance training programs across the pediatric continuum. Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing strategic educational frameworks that align with national standards and best practices
Leading collaborative efforts to enhance pediatric training programs and initiatives at the national level
Fostering an environment of academic excellence and professional development for educators and trainees
Engaging with stakeholders to advocate for advancements in pediatric education and policy
We expect the successful candidate to assist the Department Chair in fostering an environment that values pediatric education programs, and to advocate for investment and improvement. The candidate will: (1) collaborate to develop high-quality educational programs; (2) lead educational innovations; (3) conduct and disseminate educational scholarship; (4) mentor others; (5) engage with national educational organizations to develop leadership.
