Adjunct Faculty - Business Administration at Ivy Tech Community College
Overview
Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School. The posting will stay open continuously to build a pool of qualified candidates for future openings as Adjunct Instructors. Applicants will not be notified unless there is an actual need to fill the position or if the candidate does not meet minimum requirements. Responsibilities
Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follow syllabus content and requirements. Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submit requested information within established timelines. Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance. Address student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues. Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology appropriate to the instruction area (e.g., IvyLearn/Canvas, Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite). In the event of emergency absence, notify the program/department chair. Qualifications
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction, with faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction. Possesses an earned masters degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a related field, as appropriate to the course being taught; or Possesses a related or out-of-field masters degree from a regionally accredited institution with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or related field beyond introductory level; or Possesses a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or related field with documentation in two or more areas of: professional certification in the field, two years of in-field professional employment, documentation of teaching excellence, and documentation of research/publication; or Documentation of additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree (18 semester hours or equivalent) in relevant subject matter.
