Overview

College of Arts & Sciences | Mathematics Adjunct Faculty. Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engages in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests. Responsibilities

Teach residential courses in the Department of Mathematics. Courses may include College Algebra, Elementary Functions and Coordinate Geometry, Calculus and Analytic Geometry I, Introduction to Mathematical Reasoning, Calculus and Analytical Geometry III, Introduction to Discrete Mathematics and Discrete Mathematics. Record student grades in a timely fashion. Report to the Chair of the Department of Mathematics. Convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner in English. Utilize current teaching technology (LMS, e-textbooks, etc.) and apply pedagogical best practices. Adhere to Liberty University policies and represent the University in an exemplary manner. Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission. Qualifications

Education and Experience: Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline taught (Mathematics). Credentials to teach Physics would be valuable. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Mathematics or Statistics are highly desirable. Target Hire Date: 2024-12-09. Time Type: Part time. Location: Lynchburg - In Office.
