Responsibilities
As an ARD Facilitator, schedule or assist in scheduling Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and notify parents, including distributing ARD calendar to appropriate ARD Committee members in a timely fashion.
Ensure that Individual Transition Plan elements are completed in applicable cases; notify school personnel of ARD meeting/ARD schedule changes.
Ensure federal/state timelines are met with respect to ARD functions, including requests for additional assessments and required timelines set by ARD Committee.
Write and monitor ARD paperwork and submit ARD materials by the compliance due date.
Complete required documentation and reports for the special education department by due dates (e.g., transportation forms, ESY forms, October snapshot).
Maintain current state assessment rosters and submit referral sheets (testing, re-evaluation, etc.) including related services; maintain communication between assessment personnel and related service providers.
Maintain systematic communication between special and general education personnel regarding ARD meetings and decisions, IEPs, student accommodations, and instructional concerns and progress.
Complete appropriate ARD supplements and collect data (e.g., ESY regression, IEP, BIP).
Follow beginning, middle, and end of year procedures and submit appropriate summer program student recommendations.
Assist campus administrators in maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local policy as it applies to students with disabilities.
Maintain thorough documentation regarding significant concerns with ARD committee procedures.
Attend special education department staff meetings and relevant staff development; maintain positive relationships with school staff, parents, and community members.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Special Education certification.
Three years of teaching experience including experience teaching students with disabilities.
Satisfactory outcome of a background check; employees are responsible for a non-refundable fingerprinting fee (approximately $50).
