Under general supervision, provide technical, scientific, and organizational assistance to the operation of laboratory research activities focused on regenerative medicine and gene therapy in translational models. Assist and support studies focusing on stem cell and gene therapy. Work closely with the immediate supervisor and other laboratory personnel on a daily basis regarding all aspects of tasks and responsibilities; review and evaluate procedures to confirm they are performed in a timely and effective manner and according to laboratory protocols, and that samples and data are collected and stored. Order and maintain supplies, coordinate inventory records, and manage documentation according to good laboratory practice (GLP) standards. Maintain good working relationships with other laboratory members and follow UC, Campus, and Primate Center guidelines in performing tasks, consulting the supervisor regularly on activities and documentation.
Applicants will be screened on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences or related discipline (e.g., Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Genetics) with clear evidence of experience in reading, writing, and following protocols.
Experience in research involving animal models in microbiology, molecular biology, cellular biology, or related fields, including laboratory work, protocol development, and mathematical calculations.
Proficiency in applied laboratory techniques such as cell culture, preparation of blood and tissue samples, tissue collection, and analysis.
Experience with computer applications for transcribing raw data, entering, and analyzing results.
Skills in processing blood and related specimens, sectioning fixed and frozen specimens, and performing immunohistochemistry.
Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes and various assay instruments.
Knowledge of microbiology, sterile technique, and containment for BSL-2 and BSL-3 agents.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organizational skills for maintaining chemical inventories, media preparation, and record keeping.
Knowledge of chemical safety and analytical troubleshooting.
Ability to work independently under direct supervision, meeting protocol-defined timelines.
Multitasking, strict attention to detail, and ability to perform multiple procedures in a fast‑paced environment with regular supervision.
