Site Safety and Health Officer
Perini Management Services, Inc. is hiring a Site Safety and Health Officer in Colorado Springs, CO. Salary is $100,000 – $130,000.
Responsibilities
Reports to the Project Manager for project/operational issues and administratively to the Division Safety Director.
Assists with the development and implementation of Activity Hazard Analyses.
Coordinates the project’s safety effort and ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures in the Site‑Specific Safety Plan.
Attends all construction meetings to provide guidance for the pre‑planning of work activities and ensures employees have required training.
Provides training to employees and subcontractors as necessary.
Facilitates the project safety orientation program and ensures all employees attend prior to working on‑site.
Participates in project meetings with clients and subcontractors.
Attends and participates in weekly safety meetings, assists in resolving safety questions and ensures the meetings are productive and practical.
Performs daily safety inspections of trades/work areas, corrects unsafe conditions and behaviors as they are discovered and submits a written report to the Division Safety Director on a weekly basis.
Conducts a monthly site‑wide safety stand‑down.
Assists with accident/incident investigation, reviews reports to ensure investigations are complete and preventative measures are in place.
Reviews all safety documentation to ensure records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
Issues all required permits (confined space entry, hot work, etc.) to subcontractors as necessary.
Coordinates and accompanies all project safety audits by the client, owner, insurance or other safety representatives.
Requirements
Completed OSHA 30‑hour training.
USACE EM 385‑1‑1 experience.
Five or more continuous years as a construction site safety manager.
Maintained competency through 24 hours of documented training within the past five years.
Documented training in fall protection, confined space entry, excavation/trenching, scaffolding, cranes and rigging, etc.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
