Responsibilities Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers harvesting Enviva stumpage tracts
Identify and purchase tracts of standing timber to meet company harvesting objectives
Develop and maintain productive relationships with loggers harvesting Enviva stumpage tracts
Uphold and maintain positive representation of Enviva’s values with suppliers and within the local industry and community
Maintain intimate knowledge of stumpage logger operating capacity, and work in conjunction to maximize harvest production while balancing costs/weather/tract/market factors
Perform required forestry / sustainability / certification related field audits
Perform stumpage tract related field work (mark boundary lines, collect and monitor delivery tickets and log books, ensure adequate logging best practices during harvest, address access road and miscellaneous landowner concerns, occasional timber tract cruising, etc)
Manage and monitor product merchandising & marketing on stumpage tracts to meet/exceed tract purchase goals
Qualifications
3+ year experience buying / selling timber and managing logging crews in the forest products industry
An associates / bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is
preferred , with a focus in forestry and / or business administration
Proficiency in solid mathematical skills
Working knowledge of forestry, logging best practices, chipping operations
Ability to work safely in remote outdoor environments and around heavy equipment
Willingness to travel, with occasional overnight stays required
A valid driver’s license
Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills to support developing and maintaining supplier relationships
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel
Humble – open to receiving constructive feedback for continuous improvement, quick to point out the contributions of others, shares credit
Hungry – Self-motivated and diligent, confident working alone, constantly thinking about the next step and the next opportunity to help the team succeed, willing to step outside of area of direct responsibility to get the job done, focuses on achieving results / outcomes
