The Business Development Manager North America is responsible for promoting products as the system of choice with decision-makers at end users, engineering companies, system manufacturers, and contractors in the fire-fighting industry. Primary responsibility will be to identify and develop new business opportunities, and to establish, cultivate, and nurture relationships with key clients and prospects within the target industries of our products. Responsibilities
Support in managing the North American authorized distributor network and customer base, specifically key accounts. Generate leads in all relevant markets where foam as extinguishing agent is mandated. Serve as a technical expert for the product portfolio and its applications in the North American market. Be a competent partner for colleagues concerning North American market and projects. Assist the sales team with complex quotes and technical questions. Maintain an overview of all projects and trends in the North American market and present them accordingly. Understand service requirements in the North American markets. Assist in deriving and implementing a service and spare parts strategy. Maintain North American data in the CRM system. Support North American marketing and communications. Represent at relevant North American fire protection organizations and institutions. Organize relevant industry trade shows and attendance. Develop and implement sales, marketing, and budget strategies to increase sales and market share in North American fire protection market. Experience and Qualifications
Engineering degree (preferably in process, mechanical, or system engineering with fluid mechanics knowledge). Experience in B2B value-add sales, marketing, and relationships with technical investment products. Good knowledge of fire-fighting market and fire extinguishing products. Knowledge in business economics/business administration. International work experience. Excellent English skills; other languages a plus. Good communication skills, team-oriented. Willingness to travel, including internationally. Self-organized, with strong personal drive. Understanding of end-user, engineering, system manufacturer, and contractor requirements. Ability to translate vision into strategy. Technical, analytical, creative skills. Interest in working internationally. Proven success in developing market strategies.
