Position Overview: Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time teaching positions. This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year. Adjunct faculty provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to a dean or chair and performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The College of Fine Arts and Design is a center of excellence for the arts and design, as well as a locus of innovation for improving and promoting arts education. The college combines the traditional excellence inherent in Oklahoma's oldest public educational institution with groundbreaking thinking about the role of the arts on the 21st century. Department Specific Essential Job Functions: The Department of Theatre Arts invites applications for adjunct faculty in Theatre. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Beginning Acting for majors and non-majors. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching acting and/or experience in professional acting, as well as the ability to coach/train students in contemporary acting techniques. Requirements: Possesses at least a master's degree in the field specified in the position announcement. Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Higher Education teaching experience is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Provide a learning environment that supports student success. Usage of D2L system. Ensuring timely management and response to student. Posting and returning grades by required time.
