Job Summary AEcom is seeking a Geologist for employment in our Oakland, CA or Sacramento, CA offices. This position supports the Environmental business line, primarily working on Department of Defense (DoD) projects. At AECOM, we’re delivering a better world.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Utilizing basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope. Preparing technical work plans and reports. Interpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Planning, executing, analyzing, and reporting on environmental measures in natural systems. Applying standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples of soil, vapor, groundwater, surface water, and sediment; preparing samples for shipping and completing chain-of-custody paperwork. Applying knowledge of natural sciences to explain observations. Studying contaminants and determining environmental restoration methods. Preparing basic data and scientific documents. Performing unsupervised field tasks and directing staff in task execution. Reviewing analytical data for quality indicators and supporting sampling, data collection, and documentation efforts. Providing technical support and coordinating with project teams and subcontractors. Compensation The salary range for this position is $69,000 - $100,000, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline. 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent. Valid U.S. Driver's License. U.S. Citizenship. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in related fields. Professional registration or on track to obtain it. Ability to travel within the U.S. Experience with site models, remediation strategies, GIS, CAD, visualization software. OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
