St. Bonaventure University School of Business invites applications for a position in Finance at the Lecturer level. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to quality teaching, service to the department and university, and leadership potential. The position appointment is expected to begin Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.
The position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Business and engaging in service to the university and profession. Effective teaching, service and professional engagement is required for continued employment.

We have an immediate need for someone to teach Undergraduate Corporate Finance: An in-depth analysis of the financial structure and problems of the corporation. Topics treated include valuation and risk, capital structure, the capital-budgeting decision, long-term financing decisions, working capital policy and financial analysis.
The faculty member will teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and following the approved course descriptions and curricular guidelines established by the Faculty and approved by the Dean and the Provost. Non-teaching assignments will include instructional development; academic advising and assisting students; participating in Departmentaland University-wide activities; serving on committees and task forces; and other appropriate responsibilities as described in the Faculty Status and Welfare Handbook.
SCHEDULE: This is an appointed faculty position as governed by the Faculty Status and Welfare Handbook. Days, occasional evening or weekend hours as required.

Instructional:
Teaching, including the preparation of course syllabi and classes, the preparation and grading of examinations, the supervision of laboratories and other practica, and the direction of theses, honor projects, and independent study work.
The maximum instructional load for teaching faculty during the academic year is:
Nine (9) credit hours in each of the fall and spring semesters for each person holding the rank of Professor.
Twelve (12) credit hours in each of the Fall and Spring semesters for all persons holding the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor.
Academic Advising:
Post and observe office hours for purposes of academic advising and student consultation. Meet with students as needed by appointment.
Advise and assist students during the ongoing registration process.
Maintain general knowledge of degree requirements, programs and course transfer information.
Institutional Service:
Participation in activities (usually through committee work) designed to advance the mission and quality of the University, School, and Departmental programs. Assignments to routine committee work will be made in consideration of other demands placed on the faculty member by the University.
Attendance at Department, School, and general Faculty and University meetings including commencements, convocations, and other official University exercises.
Professional Growth and Development:
Maintain a program of personal and professional development appropriate for areas of responsibility.
Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and competence in the appropriate academic disciplines.
Research, publication, and professional activity within one's field of specialization or otherwise directed towards the University's mission.
Additional Responsibilities:
Additional duties as assigned by the Provost and/or the Dean.
Education:
Master’s degree in finance or in business with an emphasis on finance, statistics and closely related fields.
Possesses the appropriate professional degree or license or, in rare circumstances, have made exceptional contributions to his or her field of learning so as to render the achievement of such a degree or license unnecessary. Demonstrated teaching ability, scholarly promise, interest in the professional and personal growth of students, and a genuine spirit of study necessary to maintain currency in one's academic field. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
Years of Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and a degree from an AACSB accredited institution.
Certification and/or Licensure
CFA desirable but not required
