Business Management/Information Technology or Engineering Basic Function:
Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately if a need arises without having to wait to advertise. Applications submitted will remain active for up to two years. The starting salary range is $66.00/hour; hourly rate may vary based on assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. This adjunct pool will be used to staff assignments at the Bakersfield Community College Main Campus in the Business Management/Information Technology or Engineering departments. Minimum Qualifications
• Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience • OR Any associate degree and six years of professional experience (Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.) • OR the equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments may be judged equal to the minimum qualifications. Candidates with equivalent qualifications must submit an Application for Equivalence. • Minimum qualifications include a demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students. Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to work effectively with colleagues to promote innovation, teaching, learning and service to a diverse student population; Ability to work with students with a wide range of skills and goals; Ability to develop curriculum, including delivery via different modalities; Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation with local schools, colleges and universities; Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; Demonstrated ability to maintain subject matter currency; Ability to assess student learning outcomes; Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program; Knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission.
