Overview
COOK (FULL TIME) at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services. Location: Arcata, CA. Address: 355 Granite Ave., Arcata, CA 95521. Online applications accepted only. We are hiring immediately for a full-time COOK position with a schedule that includes varying AM, PM, and evening shifts between 7:00 AM and 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some weekends. Open availability preferred. Pay Range: $19.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour. Responsibilities
Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules. Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items. Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from area worked during service periods. Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintains high standards of cleanliness, and stores or discards excess food per safe food-handling procedures. Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensures food and supply items are stored per standards. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed and assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required. Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required; reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately. Attends in-service and safety meetings and maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers. Performs duties safely, maintains a clean, safe work environment, and follows HACCP standards for food safety and presentation; adheres to company policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned and ensures proper presentation, portion control and serving temperatures. Qualifications
