Position Industrial Waste Sales Representatives secure accounts from existing and potential customers by prospecting and generating new business leads. This position requires cold calling on commercial accounts in the field and working with Regional outside sales staff to generate industrial waste sales as well as ensuring disposal compliance. The hours and level of responsibility may vary by location or line of business.
Responsibilities of the Position
Account maintenance of all current industrial waste accounts.
Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business.
Establish professional internal and external customer/vendor relationships with appropriate personnel.
Determine customer needs and propose appropriate service needs.
Meet or exceed the industrial waste sales goals.
Prepare and deliver professional sales proposals/presentations to key decision makers that result in closing the sale.
Propose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
Utilize the company’s Growth Management System (GMS Board/WR1) on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profiles.
Maintain prospect information of sales territory.
Ensuring proper disposal compliance.
Perform data entry to populate electronic sales orders via the Sales Management System (SMS).
Secure customer signatures on required Customer Service Agreements (unaltered).
Submit and review for accuracy reports and other paperwork in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policy.
Able to screen incoming waste streams to ensure they meet the requirements of prospective landfill and transfer stations.
Initiate and follow through on all waste profiles and re-certifications.
Perform credit applications on all prospective customers.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Rumpke’s services and pricing structure.
Other duties as assigned.

Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
Professional in presentation and communication.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organized with good time management skills.
Analytical/problem solving abilities for the customer and the company.
Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications.
Must have reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
Continuously working inside and outside in changing temperature, wet/humid conditions.
Continuously sitting, standing, and walking.
Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a maximum of 10 lbs; rarely up to 20 lbs.
Additional Working Conditions
Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
Ability to travel between offices, as required.
Ability to work flexible hours; may require nights and weekends.
Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
Must be able to read and speak the English language.
