This is a full-time position in a senior executive management assistant role. As such, this level requires an annual employment contract that will be renewed based on performance objectives being met. Due to the renewal of contract requirements, this position is classified/labeled as limited term, however, is considered a full-time position with benefits. senior executive management assistant
to join our front-line leadership team and support our mission of serving and connecting people, communities and the economy through transportation.
What You’ll Do
Serve as the strategic right hand to senior executives in Public Affairs, Government Relations, and Communications.
Manage complex calendars, high-level correspondence, confidential briefings and time-sensitive materials.
Coordinate internal and external meetings with top state officials, legislative staff, media outlets and federal partners.
Support development and delivery of communications materials, including talking points, briefings and public-facing content.
Facilitate seamless information flow between executive offices and departmental teams.
Proactively solve problems, manage priorities and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
This position serves as the senior executive management assistant to the director and deputy directors of the Bureau of Public Affairs, acting in a liaison capacity with bureau administrative and professional staff; state, local and federal governmental officials; Governor’s office staff; the general public; media and employees at all levels of the department. Provides administrative and executive support, requiring a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy, and extensive knowledge of the bureau and department’s goals and areas of responsibility.
Salary
— The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Senior Executive Management Assistant (SEMA) 11 position.
Qualifications Education Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience Six years of administrative support experience where use of a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc., or to enter/retrieve/update information is an essential part of the work, including three years equivalent to an advanced, 8-level, administrative support worker, Secretary E8, or Legal Secretary E8; two years equivalent to a Secretary 9, Legal Secretary 9, or Senior Executive Management Assistant 9; or, one year equivalent to the Division Head Legal Secretary 10 or Executive Secretary E10. Possession of an associate's degree in applied arts and sciences in an executive secretarial science curriculum may be substituted for one year as a Secretary 9.
