Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practice Provider — Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. Dartmouth Health is pleased to announce an opening for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider in the Section of Cardiac Surgery. This opportunity offers the chance to live and work in a beautiful region with a program that values professional fulfillment and a balance between work and life outside the hospital. The successful candidate will provide and coordinate care and education of patients and families across the full continuum of cardiac surgery: from clinic or inpatient consultation, through surgery and post-op hospital stay, to outpatient follow-up.
Responsibilities
Rotate in the ICU/Floor/and operating room. The opportunity to act as first assistant for Cardiac operations is available to experienced surgical PAs or APRNs with RNFA certification. OR first assist will include a full range of coronary, complex valve, aortic, and minimally invasive procedures, as well as endoscopic open vein harvesting.
Teaching and Research In addition, there are ample opportunities to be involved in research as well as clinical teaching in our APP Residency Program. A faculty appointment through Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be requested.
Qualifications andRequirements
Be team-oriented, multi-taskers with a great willingness to learn and hone their skills
Work rotating day shifts in the ICU/Floor covering the cardiac surgery inpatient service, and evaluating new consults.
Enjoy teaching and mentoring the next generation of Cardiac Surgery APPs through our Cardiothoracic Surgery APP residency
Vein harvesting and Cardiac surgery 1 st assist experience REQUIRED
Minimal need for clinic coverage

Our program is in the process of expanding and we have several
opportunities for career growth , including robotic mitral valve surgery, endoscopic radial artery harvesting, complex advanced HF management, research in our state-of-the-art pig lab, and leadership roles for the APP Residency Program.
No in-house night or weekend call required. For qualified candidates, OR call is 1:6 on nights, weekends, and holidays;
call is taken from home .

Requirements
BLS certification
Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a PA or APRN in NH
Successful completion of an approved PA/APRN program.
For candidates seeking to work in the OR: National specialty certification as RNFA or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
