Account Manager (Open) – Grandville, MI – Retail shop
Airgas is hiring for an Account Manager in Grandville, MI and we are looking for you!
Location: Grandville, MI - Retail shop
Auto Allowance + Mileage Reimbursement; Frequent local travel within assigned territory; Hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities
Manage the sales process and drive profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory to both existing and new Airgas customers.
Meet and exceed corporate and regional objectives for profitable sales growth, A/R management, and customer retention within the territory.
Develops and executes sales plans to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts. Qualifies and pursues sales leads.
Cultivate customer relationships by developing a deep knowledge of the customer’s business and establishing a consultative relationship.
Engage customers by linking their business priorities to the Airgas value proposition.
Prepare sales proposals by quoting pricing, establishing credit terms, and estimating delivery dates based on Airgas production/delivery schedules.
Stay current with industry insights, Airgas product mixes, and monitor competition by gathering market information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
Partner with internal resources to achieve growth objectives and maintain clear communication with internal departments regarding customer successes, opportunities, and developments.
Maintain and submit sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly/annual territory analyses) as required by the District Manager through SAP.
Actively review and manage existing customer Accounts Receivable balances to minimize working capital investment and financial risk.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science, business or related field required. In lieu of degree, up to 4 years of additional related experience may be accepted.
Minimum of 3 years outside B2B sales experience, with proven solution-selling ability and a track record of managing customers in a defined territory.
Knowledge of customer segmentation and ability to prioritize high-value customers.
Consultative sales approach with multiple value propositions and integrated solutions.
Ability to leverage knowledge of customers’ businesses, macro- and microeconomic trends, and industry opportunities.
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening and presentation skills.
Strong PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, email) and ability to adapt to a PC-based order entry system and handheld scanner.
Self-starter, self-motivated, urgency in work, and ability to work independently.
Strong analytical and planning skills; ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and required liability insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, industrial gas/welding supply sales is a plus.
