Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will manage the cash receipts, payment cycle, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper reconciliation to the General Ledger. This role involves ensuring the proper accounting of all payments made for scholarship programs and reviewing invoices for accuracy and risk mitigation prior to payment. The AR Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

Manage the payment cycle and resolve discrepancies.

Ensure proper reconciliation to the General Ledger.

Account for all payments made for scholarship programs accurately.

Review invoices for accuracy and mitigate risks prior to payment.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues.

Support special projects, as needed.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Accounting, General Ledger, and Reconciliation.

Experience with AR, aash receipts, month-end processes, journal entries, and reporting.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work. The role requires availability during core business hours from 8AM to 5PM EST. The position is contract-to-hire, offering great benefits upon hire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
