this tip sheet . The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) has an exciting opportunity for a Licensing Associate at the University of Miami. Work location:
Converge Miami Building CORE JOB SUMMARY The mission of the OTT is to serve the University and its faculty by commercializing technologies developed within the university system to benefit the public. The Licensing Associate will collaborate with team members to conduct and manage technical, patent, and market research in assigned technology areas. Responsibilities include assessing innovation disclosures for potential and protectability, developing commercialization pathways, and negotiating license and option agreements. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Assess innovation disclosures for commercialization potential and interface with inventors on pathways. Negotiate licensing and option agreements, including terms, royalties, and IP rights. Build relationships with inventors, researchers, industry partners, and legal teams to facilitate technology transfer. Monitor and manage ongoing licensing agreements. Coordinate with Contracts and Finance teams to ensure compliance. Develop marketing strategies to promote licensed technologies and explore business opportunities. Follow University policies and safeguard assets. This list is not exhaustive and may include additional duties as needed. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s or JD preferred. Experience:
Minimum 2 years relevant work experience or equivalent education/experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: Excellent communication skills Strong project management and problem-solving skills Effective time management for multiple projects Ability to work independently and collaboratively Analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills The University of Miami is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
