Osseo Automotive is seeking a long-term Controller to join our team. After nearly 25 years, our current Controller is retiring, and we are looking for a qualified individual to train under her during this transition.

Automotive Controller - Essential Duties
Prepare complete monthly financial statements according to dealership guidelines and manufacturer formats, ensuring all accounts, including warranty claims, rebates, interest protection, and co-op advertising, are current and accurate.
Interpret financial statements and daily operating controls regularly, informing the dealer of developing trends.
Assist in preparing short- and long-term financial forecasts for the dealership.
Provide department managers with detailed financial and management reports.
Maintain an effective cash management system, forecast cash flows, and recommend profitable use of excess cash.
Assess depreciation rates for capital assets.
Review general ledger and scheduled accounts, investigate unusual entries.
Reconcile general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable.
Stay updated on tax code revisions and advise the dealer on operational adjustments.
Ensure compliance with all government finance regulations, including filing and maintaining required forms, payroll taxes, income taxes, and retirement plan records.
Manage the dealership's computer system to maximize utilization.
Administer loss review programs and maintain loss reserves for contingent liabilities and trade receivables.
Meet with the dealer to evaluate insurance renewals.
Ensure office personnel follow proper accounting procedures, maintain accurate records, and assist in preparing information for CPA reviews to minimize audit costs.
Work to improve data integrity and reporting throughout the dealership.
Attend management meetings.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
