Job Description - Material Controller LIC (3rd Shift) (MER0003TND)
Job Overview The LIC (Logistic Information Center) is the connection between the Material Planning and the logistic and production shop floor. This position coordinates, directs, monitors, implements, tracks and reports activities related to daily production activities, in regards to internal and/or external warehouse management and/or logistic service provider. This position is responsible to take immediate actions to secure the supply of parts for the production lines. This position works in shift model (early, late or night shift).
Responsibilities
Communicate production change notices and upcoming changes to current and/or business partners to optimize benefits and minimize cost and/or confusion.
Contact person (Logistics-Hotline) for the logistic and production shop floor in case of any circumstance about material flow, incidents, etc.
Control the material flow to the production line. Analyze the existing inventory to secure production supply.
Coordination of necessary actions with parts from conventional deliveries.
Develops processes, procedures and support training to ensure inventory and ERP program are consistent.
Manage parts controlling in the plant: Reporting of incidents, creating multiple reports, preventive actions.
Monitor parts movements on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis to insure accurate invoicing/payment, identify trends, and estimate needed budgets on a quarterly or yearly basis.
Monitor, coordinate, and/or direct logistic shop floor during launch and ramp up and into production to insure seamless material flow in the plant.
Provides feedback to management on accuracy levels, procedure problems, and recommends corrective actions.
Will perform other duties as assigned.
Work with system parameters like unloading point, load carrier class, car set or sequence and check data consistency and/or completeness.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics or in a related Engineering field required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of automotive operations or Logistics; preferably Material Handling, Shop floor Management, Production supply.
Knowledge & Skills
Specific areas of interest are logistics, order management, shop floor management and supplier management.
Knowledge of the product and parts. Ability to work during scheduled work hours, as well as overtime, including weekends. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
Highly motivated self-starter; Team oriented; outstanding planning and proactive skills.
Shift: 3rd Shift. Normal hours of work for third shift are Sunday from 8:50pm to 6:05am and Monday to Thursday from 10:05pm to 6:05am. Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business. You may be required to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift for training purposes.
