Overview
Investment Accountant
The Investment Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting activities related to the company's investment portfolio. This role requires a thorough understanding of investment accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the financial services industry and a proven track record of maintaining accurate and timely financial records.
Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile investment accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of investment transactions, including purchases, sales, interest, dividends, and gains/losses.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports related to the investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
Perform valuations of investment securities and assess their impact on financial statements. Analyze investment performance and provide insights to management.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SEC, FINRA, and other relevant bodies. Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and reports.
Develop and maintain robust internal controls over investment accounting processes. Conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to established controls and policies.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries related to investment accounting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliation tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong working relationships
