Job Summary The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for executing daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, company accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in period-end closing processes including cash application, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounting activities. The Senior Accounting Specialist also works closely with cross-functional business partners, acting as a liaison in resolving issues and answering inquiries, to maintain accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Timely and accurate completion of general accounting and intercompany accounting duties, including but not limited to:

Preparing and submitting manual journal entries, including monitoring monthly accruals

Ensuring cash is properly applied in the Company's financial systems, following established policies and processes

Monthly account reconciliations

Intercompany confirmations

Receivables and payables

Inventory batch shippers

Cash tracking log and associated documentation

Billings

Lead period-end closing process and activities for assigned areas of the GL and intercompany.

Proficient in working within the Company's Order-to-Cash financial systems, including Oracle, JDE, and DENSO developed tools

Acts as a liaison with other DENSO functions/teams/locations to resolve outstanding issues, inquiries, and ensure strong internal controls.

Skills and Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external customers in the normal course of performing duties

Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible

Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to questions or issues

Process improvement, continuous learning, and team player, mindset

Solid understanding of US GAAP / IFRS

Familiarity with internal controls and best accounting processes/practices

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a timely manner

Qualifications

2-5 years of relevant accounting experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience working in Automotive or Manufacturing industries preferred

Experience working at a public accounting firm in an assurance or similar line of practice

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/Accounting systems (Oracle experience is a plus)

Annual Salary: $68,000 - $85,000
