Overview Our client is a boutique artist merchandising company based in LA/OC. They work with some of the most impactful global touring artists in the alternative music space—think Coachella, Lollapalooza, Warped Tour, and beyond. Though they operate at a high level, they’re a tight, independent team doing highly custom, highly creative work for artists on the rise and at the top.
Role Overview They’re looking for a hands-on Controller to lead our accounting operations and bring discipline to a high-volume, fast-paced business. This is a hybrid role based in their West Hollywood office (3 days on-site). The ideal candidate is deeply experienced in royalty accounting, ERP systems, and inventory-heavy environments — ideally within the music or entertainment merchandise space. You’ll supervise the current Accounting Manager and work closely with leadership on process improvements and financial visibility as they evolve.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee royalty accounting, ensuring timely and accurate artist and partner payouts
Maintain and optimize ERP systems

Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to support accurate financial data flow
Lead annual audit preparation and ensure GAAP compliance
Monitor inventory accounting and costing accuracy
Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis
Continuously evaluate and improve internal controls and accounting workflows
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in music, merch, or IP/licensing-driven industries
Strong royalty accounting experience is a must-have
Deep understanding of ERP systems (Acumatica, QuickBooks, etc.)
