$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr * To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government. Due to the requirement to have access to US Military controlled programs, U.S. Citizenship required Shift:

Cost Accountant Reports to:
VP of Finance LOCATION:
Onsite As a cost accountant, you will collect, analyze and report on cost accounting data. This includes preparing standard cost reports, monitoring inventory levels, cost comparisons, product cost analysis, tracking variances and making journal entries. You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting processes. Develop strategies to reduce costs and study product pricing to ensure the best possible return on investment for the company. Prepare budget reports by collecting information and data points from various departments within the organization. Investigate discrepancies in financial records and perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations. Ensure all manufacturing costs and inventory are reported accurately and comply with USGAAP. Assess fixed and variable costs to determine the total cost of manufacturing a product Establish the standard costs of services or products Analyze company data, assess rates of labor and overhead Prepare monthly and quarterly reports based on inventory analyses Submit accounting reports to management Assist with internal and external audits Assist with all other areas of the finance team as required Review inventory and recommend adjustments to reflect obsolete or excess inventory Research material costs to ensure the accuracy of the information in the company’s accounting system. Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy of inventory records. Monitor the accumulation of all direct labor, overhead and other manufacturing-related expenses ACCOUNTABILITIES/ SCOPE People Managed:

Direct impact on financial information KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS Ensure accurate classification of expenses under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Exceptional ability to think critically and make decisions based on data analysis. Excellent communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders. Solid desktop computer skills in the MS office environment, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc. Proficiency in accounting software like NetSuite, Syteline highly desirable Well-acquainted with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with relevant certifications like Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus Passion for numbers and competence in assessing larger datasets. Aptitude for mathematics, statistics, and various cost analysis techniques. Willingness to work in a team or individually, as required. Be well organized with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines This Cost Accountant role would suit an enthusiastic team player who has a 'can do' approach and thrives within a friendly team.
