Accounting Clerk . Responsibilities include but are not limited to depositing, cash handling, adjustments, past-due accounts, helping with the collection of past-due balances, processing invoices/credit, invoice matching, filing, and other related responsibilities. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Responsibilities:

Prepare deposits, maintaining complete and accurate journals and ledgers for all sources. Prepare weekly deposits including collection deposits on Mondays after weekend Masses collection count. Oversee Offertory Count on a weekly basis. Enter invoices submitting for payables in ConnectNow, cut checks, obtain Pastor’s signature and mail. Track and sort accounts payable and accounts receivable. Update information for the church membership files for contribution reporting and offering envelope distribution. Prepare tamper-evident envelopes for all masses on a weekly basis. Process ABCD annual campaign transactions and reports. Be diligently aware of cash flow status, informing the Business Manager of low cash/transfer needs. Facilitate Archdiocese of Miami auditing process, including preparation of necessary records and reports. Attend weekly staff meetings. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Accounting required. Must be supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting practices. Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices, including record keeping and data security methods and techniques. Knowledge of principles and practices of non-for-profit accounting a plus. Knowledge of accounts receivable and general ledger. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information. Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and contributors’ files. Must have professional demeanor. Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone. Good computer literacy, including ability to navigate online applications and search engines effectively. Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
