Finance Manager Responsibilities

Accurately track and analyze expenses and revenue; advise leadership with the objective that annual revenue exceeds expenses for the office. Work with Executive Director and development team on budget proposals for grants and modify budgets as needed throughout the year. Ensure office compliance with IRC accounting policies, fund accounting standards, and generally accepted accounting principles. Review accounting transactions for proper coding and record transactions in the regional office accounting software; prepare journal entries for HQ transactions. Prepare monthly financial reports and submit to the IRC Cluster of offices; reconcile regional databases with HQ and investigate differences. Facilitate external and internal audits as needed; prepare and coordinate financial reports to donors per contractual obligations. Supervise banking arrangements; prepare annual and quarterly operating budgets and monthly cash transfer requests; coordinate annual operating budget with the Executive Director. Prepare grant-specific monthly actual-to-budget reports and coordinate submission of reports for regional review. May supervise a team in accordance with IRC’s People Manager Standards. Support efficient office operations related to infrastructure, contracts, vendors, inventory, equipment, and procedures; protect organization assets through internal control procedures. Review service agreements for cost effectiveness and maintain grant and contract files; develop/update office procedures to increase efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Undergraduate degree required (Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred); graduate degree preferred. At least 5 years of progressively responsible finance, budgeting, and accounting experience; grant-driven, not-for-profit, or social services environment preferred. Prior team management experience strongly preferred. Solid computer-based accounting skills, including spreadsheets and related software; proficient in MS Word, Excel, Email, and Internet. Proven ability to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively; fluency in English, written and spoken. Working Environment
