At Nothing Bundt Cakes, the Assistant Baker is at the heart of it all. You support the Bakery by handling raw ingredients with a focus on consistency in our recipes, helping to produce cakes that delight guests and allow you to enjoy your own day. The Assistant Baker partners with the Baker to ensure cakes of the highest quality are consistently created for our guests and contributes to superior service by meeting production demands. Following strict proprietary recipes, NbC production methods, and food safety standards, the Assistant Baker helps perform the repeated baking process for our cakes offered in various flavors and sizes. The Assistant Baker embodies NbC core values and demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence and efficiency in the workplace. Accountabilities / Duties
Follows NbC proprietary recipes and cake production methods with precision and achieves productivity goals. Effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to bake cakes. Assists baker with preparing raw ingredients and equipment for baking; places cake pans into a hot oven and monitors the baking process. Assists baker with daily baking and production flow and processes. Adheres to proper packaging, labeling and storage of baked cakes, product rotation standards, and maintains baking and refrigeration logs. Cleans, sanitizes, and restocks workstation and assists baker to ensure supplies are prepared for the next shift. Complies with health and safety guidelines and NbC policies, including dress code and personal hygiene. Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to understand written and oral directions, interpret recipes and procedures, and apply knowledge to perform responsibilities. NbC recipes are available in English and Spanish. Understands basic units of measurement used in the U.S. Ability to perform repetitious, physical tasks, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods. Operate commercial-grade ovens and bakery equipment; work adjacent to a high-heat source. Meticulous with exact measurements, timing, and fast-paced production schedules. Evaluate products and processes to ensure compliance with standards. Adhere to health and safety practices and work environment standards. Develops discipline, organization, and self-motivation with minimal supervision. Education, Certifications, And Work Experience Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. No formal education or work experience required, but previous experience as a Baker or in an operational support role in a bakery, restaurant, or foodservice environment is a plus. Work Availability
Must have the flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and holidays, based on changing business demands. Compensation
