Reporting to the Senior Tax Accountant, you’ll be an integral part of the Tax Department, assisting in the preparation of various income and franchise tax calculations. Key responsibilities include preparing tax provision workpapers, tax compliance workpapers and returns, and fixed asset tax computations. Assist with income and franchise tax compliance matters: prepare various book-tax difference calculations, prepare federal and state income tax returns and forms, prepare quarterly estimate vouchers and extension forms and assist with calculations. Prepare detailed workpapers and consolidating schedules for the company’s state income tax apportionment. Prepare the federal and state tax depreciation calculations for the company’s fixed asset ledger. This includes utilizing automation software (Alteryx) & working with the senior tax accountant & tax manager to oversee and verify the accuracy of the calculations. Assist with preparation of various workpapers for the company’s income tax provision. This includes partnering with our accounting team to gather information, and perform calculations that are ultimately reported in our 10-K/10-Q. Assist with the preparation of miscellaneous business tax filings (BEA census surveys, Form 1042, misc. estimate calcs, federal excise tax returns, and annual reports). Assist the senior tax accountant with research on certain federal and state legislative updates to ensure compliance with various taxing authorities. Communicate with state tax authorities and prepare notice responses to resolve account discrepancies and requests for information. Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities. Grow as a teammate through various tax department projects and initiatives; contribute to the overall development of the department through process improvement & best practices. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant work experience 1-3 years of experience Employment type
