We are looking for a Part Time Senior Accountant to help scale our business with precision, creativity, and discipline. Role overview
This finance professional will have at least 7 years of experience, preferably in the Medical Device industry. The role will serve as a strategic accounting advisor to the CFO and the executive team. You will perform core accounting, manage audits, ensure regulatory and GAAP compliance, among numerous other key accounting functions. The company has a Bookkeeper and you will be instrumental in laying the foundation for sound financial operations as ELIXIR‑MD scales globally, raises capital, ensures regulatory and compliance needs and audits. Key responsibilities
Oversee and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities (prepare, review, post journal entries, accruals, amortizations). Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain proper accounting policies and procedures. Review and oversee general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounts. Lead or coordinate external audit (financial statement audits, etc.) and tax filings. Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting to CFO and CEO. Guide cost accounting, capitalization of R&D, depreciation, amortization, and allocations. Support or review tax planning, compliance, and tax return preparation. Advise on internal controls, finance system enhancements, ERP migration. Serve as liaison to external accounting / tax / audit advisors. Mentor or review work of more junior accounting staff or consultants. Organizational leadership
Partner with CFO, CEO and executive team to set strategic priorities and execute operational plans. Build and mentor a high-performing operations team capable of supporting rapid global growth. Instill scalable systems and best practices in compliance, reporting, and operational excellence. Cross-functional execution
Work closely with sales, finance, regulatory, and customer support teams to ensure alignment between operations and business objectives. Desired qualifications
Licensed CPA in good standing. At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the medical device, biotech, life sciences, or high-tech manufacturing space. Experience with GAAP, audit, tax, internal controls, and financial reporting. Familiarity with transfer pricing, foreign sub accounting, R&D capitalization, cost accounting, and revenue recognition (ASC 606). Prior experience working with or supporting external auditors, tax advisors. Strong Excel skills, ERP / accounting systems experience (e.g. Salesforce, SAP, QuickBooks). Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to work autonomously, set priorities, deliver results in a fast-paced environment. 15–25 hours per week. In-office only.
