Overview Accountant 2 Requisition ID req34798 Working Title Accountant 2 - Department of Neurosurgery Position Grade 12

The Department of Neurosurgery seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Accountant 2. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who will act as the lead for the department's clinical and unrestricted fiscal operations and budgetary process.

Responsibilities

The oversight of clinical, unrestricted, restricted, and foundation accounts

Budget development, monthly reconciliation, and revenue and expense reports

Analyzing and interpreting financial operations

Preparing monthly, bi-yearly, and ad hoc reports for the department and SOM administration

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree and successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master\'s in accounting

UNM Accounting experience

The ability to analyze and interpret financial data

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate financial information and compliance requirements to staff, leadership, physicians and other professionals

Working knowledge of Banner (or similar system) and UNM Financial systems

Proficient in MS Excel and MS Access to analyze/interpret financial data and prepare financial reports

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member

The successful applicant should demonstrate knowledge of university policies/procedures, applicable local, state, and federal regulations and generally accepted accounting principles

Pay: Monthly: $3,844.53 - $5,399.33
