Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $185,000 to $235,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities
Lead all accounting operations for both operating and non-operating entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Manage the full close cycle—monthly, quarterly, and annually—including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
Oversee payroll and compensation accounting, including variable pay and bonus accruals.
Maintain internal controls and accounting policies to support operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Supervise accounts payable, expense reporting, vendor management, and billing processes for advisory services.
Requirements
Active CPA license and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
7–12+ years of experience in accounting, including public accounting and leadership roles in private companies.
Strong background in GAAP reporting and technical accounting standards such as ASC 606, 805, and 842.
Hands-on experience with accounting systems like Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and Divvy/Bill Spend & Expense.
Familiarity with financial services or related industries.
Qualifications
Skilled in financial analysis, budgeting, and translating accounting data into strategic insights.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
Proven ability to lead audits, manage external advisors, and support tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on process improvement and documentation.
Demonstrated leadership in building and mentoring accounting teams with integrity and sound judgment.
