The CNU College of Social Sciences is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, in the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters and beyond: Principles of Microeconomics The Economic Way of Thinking Principles of Macroeconomics Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of related graduate course work. The Department of Economics at Christopher Newport University is composed of 8 full-time faculty who seek to provide students an outstanding liberal arts education. The Department offers a Bachelor of Arts Degree in economics, a concentration in mathematical economics and a minor in economics. Our faculty integrates the liberal arts with the core functional areas of economics and the quantitative competencies needed to address important economic and public policy challenges. Faculty are dedicated teachers-scholars who emphasize high-quality classroom instruction informed by their research and professional activities. They provide students with a variety of extra-curricular opportunities to add breadth and depth to the classroom experience, including involving students in faculty research projects, hosting internationally known speakers, and club-related activities that develop both professional and leadership skills.
