Reviews financial statements for reasonable content. Maintains a system of financial accounting, reporting, and record keeping in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Assists Grants Manager, Finance and Operations teams with pre-award budget development and performs post-award budget revision reporting for grants. Responsible for budgetary control and post-award compliance with federal, state, local, and funder regulations. Responsible for processing client-related and regional office accounts payable and reconciliation processes for local staff. Responsible for invoicing and reconciliation processes related to drawdowns from funding agencies. Reviews invoices for accuracy and completeness and enters into SAG (as applicable). Monitors grant activity including cost overruns, cost sharing and unallowable administrative expenses. Initiates and leads monthly budget performance review meetings with Operations Manager, Deputy Chief, Chief of Programs, Grant Accountant Manager and/or Assistant Manager and District Finance Team member. Prepares and makes bank deposits for donations and AR payments as required; examines AR aging and ensures invoices are paid according to terms. Assists with Grant Monitoring and Grant Audits with Finance Team members. Reconciles and prepares monthly and quarterly financial grant reports in accordance with GAAP. Prepares and maintains reimbursement expenditure reports for grants and reconciles monthly grant reports to funds received. Maintains monthly financial performance and accountability for current and pending federal, state, local, foundation, and private grants. Completes audit schedules as assigned for year-end independent audits. Communicates with staff and external contacts to provide financial and accounting information and support as needed. Prepares electronic financial reports for Management Team and funders on a weekly and monthly basis for monitoring. Maintains knowledge of internal control requirements; prepares special reports, documents and records as needed. Performs other duties as assigned, including project and committee work; cross-trains on other Finance/Business Office functions; remains flexible to take on new tasks as needs change. Qualifications

Education and experience: Master’s degree preferably in Accounting or Finance; at least 4 years’ experience working as an Accountant, preferably in Grant Accounting; ability to manage financial workflow in a complex, high-volume environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and cloud-based financial ERP system, preferably Sage Intacct. Strong computer skills and knowledge of internal control requirements. Ability to speak, write and understand English; flexible work schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; ability to multi-task and deliver results; excellent communication and listening skills. Valid Florida driver’s license if driving an agency vehicle or personal vehicle for business; reliable transportation. Participation in Agency PQI program and Accreditation/Reaccreditation process; mission-driven with integrity and passion; openness to feedback and willingness to learn new skills. Benefits
