Position Summary D-Line Constructors is seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Staff Accountant with experience in Construction and project accounting. This role reports to the head of Accounting and is integral to managing financial operations and supporting construction project teams to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting and budget management.

Key Responsibilities We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing construction company. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, deadline-driven accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The primary focus of this position will be on ensuring accurate and timely month-end and quarter-end closings, with opportunities to support other areas of accounting as needed.
General Accounting: Execute tasks required for the month-end and quarter-end close process; Prepare and post journal entries; Perform monthly reconciliations
Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, AP, AR, and job cost
Accrue expenses and revenue cut-offs as required
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable functions as needed on a daily basis
Maintain construction AP job cost records, ensuring accuracy of postings and allocations
Support project managers with financial reporting and variance analysis
Contribute to process improvements to streamline closing and reporting
Leadership and Communication
Mentor junior staff, contribute to process improvements, and assist with special projects
Communicate timely with both internal and external stakeholders on the status of projects to ensure strong relationships are fostered in line with Company mission
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience (construction industry experience a plus)
Strong knowledge of GAAP; experience with job cost accounting preferred
Proficiency with ERP systems (Vista by Viewpoint or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
