Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. Enters expense transactions into accounting system. Maintains the general ledger. Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts and closes the monthly books. Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks. Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, accounts receivable clearing account, and other financial accounts. Records payroll activity and ensures accruals are properly recorded. Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Manages rent payments and monitors and maintains lease agreements schedule. Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit. Ensures tangible tax for all locations are current. Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software. Ensures credit card reports are received and accounts are coded and reconciled correctly. Assists in financial statement preparation. Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Completes related tasks as directed. Position qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. Nonprofit accounting experience required. Good knowledge of general financial accounting; understanding of GAAP. Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Adobe and web-based database systems; experience with CRM systems required; QuickBooks Online experience required; knowledge of accounting software required. CPA preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Own computer, printer, smartphone with data plan, and high-speed internet connection. Ability to work remotely; strong time management and problem solving skills. Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. Experience

Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of GAAP; attention to detail. Travel: No travel required. Supervision

Office setting. Standing, walking, and prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds as needed.
