Overview The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for overseeing monthly financial close, cost accounting, fixed asset management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll oversight, and account reconciliation. This candidate should have a deep understanding of manufacturing accounting practices and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Financial Closing & Reporting: Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process; prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and financial statements; ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
Account Reconciliation & Analysis: Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations; analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement; support internal and external audits with documentation and analysis.
Cost Accounting: Maintain and analyze standard cost systems, including BOMs and routings; monitor and report on manufacturing variances, inventory valuation, and margin analysis; collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost allocation.
Fixed Asset Accounting & System Maintenance: Manage fixed asset ledger, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals; ensure accurate tracking and reporting of capital expenditures; maintain fixed asset system integrity and support physical audits.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with strong understanding of AR, AP & Payroll.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Plex or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, leadership ability, and effective communication.
Experience Level Expert Level
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be specific to elections, plan, or program terms.
