Compensation Range
The base pay scale for this position is $35.16 - $53.71. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
What you will be doing
Analyze, verify, track, and perform preliminary administrative review of IRB submissions; communicate deficiencies or questions to investigators.
Assist in the preparation of reports and official correspondence related to IRB activities.
Facilitate IRB meetings, including preparing meeting materials, recording meeting minutes, and documenting review activities.
Communicate identified deficiencies to investigators via electronic submission system clarification requests.
Assign IRB reviewers based on expertise, medical/scientific background, and area of specialization.
Maintain IRB rosters, update records with the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) and FDA, and ensure regulatory documentation is current.
Generate approval letters for all assigned IRB applications.
Provide guidance, education, and assistance to research staff on IRB submission requirements and processes.
Ensure communications with research teams are documented in appropriate communication filing systems.
Relay IRB decisions to Principal Investigators (PIs) through official correspondence within the electronic system.
Serve as a designated reviewer for expedited and exempt research submissions, performing final determinations in accordance with regulatory criteria.
Maintain organized regulatory IRB files and ensure accurate recordkeeping for audits and inspections.
Liaise with affiliate research committees and administrative staff to coordinate additional required approvals and identify potential deficiencies.
Develop PowerPoint presentations and participate in education and training sessions for the research community.
Provide coverage for IRB office colleagues during absences and contribute to team operations.
Complete ad-hoc projects and administrative assignments as directed by the supervisor.
