Job Description As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for researching, outlining, writing, and editing technical documentation. You will work closely with various departments to understand project requirements and develop clear, concise documentation that supports customer's forensic and investigative ecosystem.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must possess an active TS clearance at the time of application, be willing and able to obtain SCI access, and pass a CI polygraph.
This position is onsite 5/days a week in Chantilly, VA
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing
Experience with Agile methodologies
Understanding of software development processes
Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise documentation
May require occasional travel for Program Increment planning sessions
May require flexible scheduling to support critical operations
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Documentation tools and content management systems
Technical writing standards and best practices
Information architecture principles
Style guides and documentation templates
Editing and proofreading techniques
Document version control system
Familiarity with
Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint
GitLab Wiki or similar documentation platforms
Agile documentation practices
Diagramming tools
Basic HTML/CSS
Section 508 compliance requirements for documentation
Knowledge base creation and maintenance
Responsibilities
Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content for technical documentation
Work closely with development teams to understand project requirements
Gather information from subject matter experts to develop procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
Identify documentation repositories and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage
Create and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards
Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability
Maintain a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
Ensure documents follow the style laid out in the organization's style guide
Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational control procedures (OCPs)
Develop user guides, training materials, and technical reports
Support Program Increment (PI) planning and documentation needs
Prepare professional documentation suitable for executive-level managers
