We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead the Quality team based at our Charlotte Plant. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Global Quality and will have direct reports. Key Accountabilities
Manage the people, resources, and processes of the quality department comprised of Engineers and Quality Lab personnel in a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Provide leadership to troubleshoot quality issues, resolve customer complaints, and ensure corrective actions are effective. Support startup of a new coating/slitting process, including new test equipment, processes, and a new QMS system. Monitor process capability and implement lean/Six Sigma projects. Develop and audit corrective/preventive actions for customer complaints. Oversee employee performance management, training, evaluation, development planning, and corrective actions for the quality staff to meet certification and work standards. Align Celgard systems and processes to automotive requirements. Manage internal process audits, prepare for external audits of the QMS, and participate as an internal auditor. Assist with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 conformance. Develop and ensure APQP compliance; oversee PPAP/PSW and external qualification packages for new products. Use tools such as FMEA, data analysis, root cause analysis, SPC, and other problem-solving methods. Lead Material Review Board processes, process design reviews, and product/process qualification. Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse and Process Engineering to monitor quality implications of material, process, and product changes. Oversee the contamination program and drive improvements. Gather and report quality data, and prepare reports for management, corporate, and relevant personnel. Develop management and technical skills to enhance performance and prepare for future assignments. Lead customer tours and audits as needed to support the Charlotte plant. Lead quality stand-down meetings with manufacturing crews to drive improvements in customer quality. Qualifications
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field required ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CQA, CQM/OE) preferred Knowledge & Experience
7+ years’ experience with Quality Systems in a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive) including APQP and PPAP Experience leading a team of professionals and technicians (2+ years) Experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Familiarity with blown film or plastics manufacturing preferred Experience leading internal/external audits Strong knowledge of statistics, SPC, and RCA Experience with statistical software; MiniTab is a plus Lean Manufacturing experience preferred Key Attributes
