The BIM GIS Coordinator III- Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) works closely with the BIM Manager and the Los Angeles Community Colleges District to implement BIM and GIS on the BuildLACCD program. Responsibilities
Monitor and reconcile the Design Team’s and Construction Team’s submittal data related to GIS and asset tracking. Collect and QA/QC CMMS data for Bond impacted facilities and infrastructure, including reviewing and uploading equipment data from completed As-Builts to CMMS and GIS spatial data (building spaces, hardscape/softscape, landscape, infrastructure and security features) to CMMS. Manage and maintain as-built information related to Bond impacted projects, researching data/documents in SharePoint, DocView or other data sources to produce files or reports such as CAD/BIM As-Built drawings. Review BuildLACCD CADD standards compliance and manage drawings through Bluebeam; manage BlueBeam Studio sessions and provide BlueBeam training. Provide general technical support and support As-Built/M&O data delivery review at Ops Closeout for current Bond projects (BuildLACCD projects and district-wide projects). Develop As-Built GIS maps of Bond impacted facilities and infrastructure. Support for SharePoint record drawings database, research data, and managing ProjectWise database; upload/download files as needed and manage users; provide training and monthly reports. Provide BIM submittal tracking and review submittals to ensure compliance with BuildLACCD standards and BIM scope of services. Coordinate BIM submittals between college project teams and design/construction teams; conduct BIM 360 model reviews/workflow/administration. Work with BuildLACCD and LACCD teams to develop BIM and GIS scope of services; provide support for ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online platforms; review GIS and BIM deliverables for ArcGIS Online integration. Perform site walks and spot checks of project sites, including LIDAR scanning, GPR surveying, GPS surveying and photography. Travel to BuildLACCD and LACCD project sites to provide QA/QC and field data collection (survey may be up to 30% of scope). Conduct site investigations to verify existing utility infrastructure; identify potential conflicts and advise solutions with college CPT team, College Facility and contractors onsite. Monitor progress and quality of utility installations and relocations to ensure they meet project specifications, approved drawings and schedules; document field observations and site conditions for reports and client deliverables. Provide general tech support and BIM submittal coordination between teams; review for ArcGIS Online integration and ArcGIS/Python tooling as appropriate. Minimum Required Qualifications
Minimum 6 years’ recent experience in Architecture or Construction Management with a focus on GIS and BIM. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field (can be substituted with 8 years of experience). Advanced GIS concepts, principles, practices and techniques, including computer mapping, attribute conversions, transfer, manipulation and analysis. Experience utilizing BIM for 4D planning and project coordination/clash detection. Experience working with Design and Construction Teams. Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of BIM and GIS workflows. Experience modeling and coordinating tasks within AutoCAD, Revit and Map 3D. Experience data management within SharePoint, BIM 360 Docs and Bluebeam. Experience field surveying with ArcGIS Collector. Strong experience with ArcGIS and Python software, tools and applications. Strong relational database concepts, methods and practices. Compensation
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $98,000.
