The Hilb Group is seeking a motivated and ambitious Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Peterborough, NH. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
Be main conduit of communication to insured and handle day-to-day correspondence with client (email, phone) for commercial accounts
Use discretion and judgement to interpret policy language and communicate changes in coverage to the insured
Act as the relationship builder with the account
Communicate with carriers and insured to respond to their questions and/or issues
Investigate audit discrepancies and explain them to insured and/or producer
Understand the insured’s business/operation including: All exposures including property owned, products made, questionable drivers etc.
Follow losses as year progresses and understand trends and reasons for losses
Get early indication if experience is deteriorating and get prepared to market renewal
Process policy changes as directed by the producer or the insured. Review endorsement documents issued by the carrier for accuracy and forward to the insured.
Communicate risk control recommendations from carrier to the insured, follow-up with insured on completion and update carrier
Update producer as necessary, but minimally at renewal time
Prepare renewal marketing submission for producer as needed. All accounts being marketed to carriers will include at a minimum: Completed application(s) and any required supplemental applications; Updated statement of values; An explanation of the operation(s) of the account; Listing of positive attributes of the account; Statement as to expected pricing; Recently valued loss runs – account manager responsible for obtaining; The date we expect/need the carrier to give us their proposal; Quality check all renewals – advise producer of material changes found on renewals or differences between quotes and policies and endorsements
Invoice all agency-bill policies ensuring the correct commission splits are entered in the agency management system
Take responsibility for managing all aspects of the policy renewal process and communicate the requirements to both the insured and producer
Monitor billing and cancellation status of accounts
Generate proof of insurance upon request on behalf of the insured
Use discretion and judgement to direct processing tasks to Account Technicians
Document all correspondence regarding the account in agency management system
Qualifications
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and the following programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Outlook
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology and software
Ability to respond promptly and efficiently to requests from clients and internal team members
Prepare professional form letters, write clearly, edit work for spelling and grammar, ability to read and interpret written information
Perform all job requirements, consistently produce quality work, complete tasks accurately and on time, prioritize and plan work assignments, use time efficiently to meet productivity standards and commitments
Take responsibility for own actions and be responsive to coaching from other team members and department manager
Willingness to ask for assistance to improve service and complete the assignments in a timely manner
Strive to continuously pursue training and development opportunities to build knowledge and skills
Producer license in resident state
At least one Professional Insurance Designation (AAI, ACSR, CIC, CPCU, CISR, ARM, CRM)
High School Diploma
