Telecommunications Technician positions in Fayetteville, NC, and Fort Liberty, NC Overview

The technicians will be working with other full time team members in commercial or outside plant environments. Depending on experience, the following responsibilities will include: troubleshooting and installing low voltage and structured cabling related work. Day-to-day

Reporting to the office around 6:30 AM – 7:00 AM. They will sit in a team meeting that covers the scope of the project and what needs to be completed for the specific project. After the meeting, the technicians will head to the sites in the company van/truck with other team members. The workload currently includes overtime, typically 5–10 hours. Responsibilities

The Technician will prep and splice fiber optic cables, locate problem areas and perform other repairs as needed Proficient with fiber connector prep and installation. Proficient with fiber test equipment. Initiates test and turn-up procedures Fabricate, assemble, and install cable pathways including cable trays through facilities, trenches and manholes Install, splice, terminate and test vertical backbone and horizontal fiber optic and copper cable systems Including fusion splicing and pigtail splicing, and installing fiber connectors Cable installation: Must have a clear understanding and be able to install cable in aerial, underground, and inside plant environments Perform ring/hot cuts Install fiber closures, terminations, connectors, patch panels and related materials Bond and ground fiber cables according to client specifications Must have a clear understanding of the OTDR, both operation and evaluation of information received. OTDR: read traces and determine whether specifications have been met both overall and per event (connector or splice) PCS utilizes Corning fusion splicers: M-90, X-77, I-LID, and Opti-Slice lid fusion splicers Skills & Qualifications

Fiber optic, Fiber optic testing, Fiber optic splicing, OTDR, Troubleshooting Proficient with BICSI certification or equivalent Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must be able to take feedback and training. Ability to follow instructions and take coaching from peers and colleagues. Willingness to work long hours. PCS aims for technicians to become full-time employees and promote from within. Experience Level

Expert Level Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $52,000.00 – $62,400.00 per year PTO Overtime Health/Dental/Vision Workplace Type
