Intellectual Property Paralegal/ Patent Paralegal
- Atlanta, Georgia Immediate opportunity to join the intellectual property team of a large tech firm with global presence. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with patent preparation and patent prosecution. This position will provide direct support to Patent Attorneys. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, preparing and submitting documents to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), tracking due dates for responses to USPTO correspondence, preparing communications to U.S. and non-U.S. attorneys, maintaining patent application electronic docket folders, and entering data related to patent applications into a docketing system. Candidates must have experience (i) preparing oaths/declarations and assignments and recording assignments (ii) preparing and filing Information Disclosure Statements (IDS), (iii) filing amendments, appeals and other responses to the USPTO, and (iv) filing requests for filing patent applications in foreign countries. This is a fast-paced environment, so candidates must be able to manage and organize workflows, handle multiple shifting priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision. Required qualifications:
High School Diploma, college coursework preferred. Paralegal Certificate. At least 8 years working in the legal industry. A minimum of 5 years specifically working with patent preparation and prosecution. At least 2 years of experience with patent docketing. Must be tech-savvy to include proficiency with MS Office.
