Overview

If you have experience in estate planning, you may be an excellent addition to our growing law firm. We are looking for a highly analytical candidate with good negotiation and organizing skills who can work full time. As our estate planning attorney, you will draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for our clients and their families. To ensure that an estate's management is handled in accordance with the wishes of the estate owner, this position requires a significant level of responsibility. The applicant we are looking for must have extensive knowledge of estate planning. Responsibilities

Represent clients in court proceedings as needed Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action Discuss plans with clients for distributing clients\' assets Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process Be a direct point of contact for clients on the creation and implementation of their respective estate planning strategy in a way that will make the client want to leave a 5-star Google Review with your name in it Advise clients about their estate planning options, the pros, and cons of each strategy, and provide a fiduciary recommendation from a "down-to-earth" perspective that clients will understand and appreciate Be a mentor to less-experienced team members and an advocate for team member growth and education Contribute to the success of the team, even if it means going outside of your job description Keep unneeded drama out of the office and contribute to our solid team culture Help grow the firm\'s presence throughout Suffolk and Nassau Counties Qualifications

Experience at a legal firm working on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years is required Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) Candidates should be great communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position Understanding of a variety of real estate matters, including title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation Licensed to practice law in the state of New York (DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT LICENSED IN NEW YORK) At least 3 years of progressive experience with estate planning and probate matters at a law firm that focuses on estate planning and probate The right candidate must be able to report to the office as required High emotional intelligence Business and tech-savvy, or a quick learner Experience and comfort with one-on-one consultation meetings with clients on your own Compensation

Compensation:

$90,000-$151,000 per year
