JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Assists in planning, implementing, supervising and performing daily security management for Samaritan Health Services. This includes responsibility for assigned buildings, property, equipment and vendors. Ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Samaritan Health Services works with local, State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment in all SHS facilities for staff, patients and visitors. Staff members are trained in conflict resolution, de-escalation techniques, safe restraint methods and legal responsibilities. All training is under the required guidelines of DPSST (Department of Public Safety, Standards and Training). Samaritan Health Services Department of Security strives for a community policing model reflective and representative of the community they serve.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Current Oregon Drivers License and Proof of Insurance required. One (1) of the following required:
Two (2) years security and/or law enforcement experience. Two (2) years college level course work in a related field plus one (1) year security and/or law enforcement experience.
Incident Command System (I.C.S.) Certifications 100, 200, 700 and 800 required upon hire. Current DPSST Private Security Professional certification required within 90 days of hire. Experience with security equipment (access control, video surveillance, mass notification) required. Experience with computer applications (including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) preferred. Experience in de-escalation preferred. Experience writing policy and procedure documents preferred. Experience working with mental health subjects preferred. Experience in DNV, CMS, HIPPA/Privacy and NFPA preferred.

Knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS) and of DPSST Private Security requirements.
