General Summary: Responsible for assisting in Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative, Inc.’s (Rayburn) day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and verifying financial transactions. Provides back up for the AP/AR process in accounting. Prepares complete and accurate posting of entries into the general ledger accounting system. Responsibilities
Prepares general ledger entries and reviews for Rayburn, including but not limited to cash, fixed assets, capital projects, AP and AR. Processes Accounts Payable invoices. Provides back-up for other accountants and the processing and posting of AR invoices with proper approvals. Supports month end and year end accounting close. Performs and reviews general ledger account reconciliations for assigned accounts. Prepares reports and analysis to support management or business requirements. Performs any other accounting duties pertaining to the business of Rayburn. Assists management as needed. Key Accountabilities
Complies with all policies, procedures and confidentiality agreements effective as a result of employment with Rayburn. Shares information with Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties in a timely manner, as required. Delegates jobs and tasks to appropriate employees, providing complete information and resources to properly complete such jobs and tasks. Provides Rayburn management with updates and/or reports on work and tasks as requested or required. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management. Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related degree is required. 2 - 3 years of accounting experience Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Proficient 10 key skills Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work effectively in a team environment; willing to assist others Physical Demands
Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a computer workstation. Ability to perform repetitive motions in order to use a computer keyboard. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; open file cabinets and bend or stand as necessary Job Information
