The Mutual Group . 1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Description As a Commercial Casualty Claims Adjuster, you will serve as a real partner to our members by processing claims accurately and efficiently so they can resume their life's work without unnecessary delay. Responsibilities Investigates coverage and cause of loss on routine to more complicated claims, including policy review, interviewing all parties, and gathering investigative documentation. Handles injury and property damage claims, including investigating and evaluating exposures. Triages significant exposures to the large loss team. Provides assessments and negotiates claims resolutions while managing costs. Settles losses within authority and according to policy and regulations. Prepares written communication such as settlement letters, disclaimers, and reservation of rights letters. Maintains claim file documentation and diaries to ensure timely development and disposition of claims. Recognizes recovery opportunities and prepares submissions to SIU when needed. Supervises field examiners and vendors, including adjusters and experts. Performs additional duties as assigned. Skills/Requirements Required Qualifications: 5+ years handling Commercial Liability Claims. Property and casualty or Independent Adjuster license (willing to obtain within 30 days if not licensed). Experience with litigation handling. Understanding of coverage, policy interpretation, and liability concepts. Ability to work independently from a home-based environment. Strong negotiation skills. Willingness to travel periodically. Recommended Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. CPCU or SCLA certification preferred. Ability to analyze expenses, indemnity, and support loss evaluations. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Strong written and oral communication skills. Compensation $59,400 - $99,000 based on experience, plus bonus. Higher ranges in specific states: $65,400 - $109,000 in CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY, PA, plus bonus.
