Finance Manager
to support their retail operations in New York City. This is a high-impact, stand alone role focused on financial reporting, planning, and analysis for a café restaurant business. The position is 5 days on-site and reports directly to senior management overseas.
Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end financial close and reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Reconcile daily cash and credit card sales with POS systems
Manage bank runs and prepare reconciliations
Process vendor invoices and maintain vendor records (W9 setup)
Maintain accurate accounting records and post transactions
Conduct monthly inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
Analyze sales performance, margins, and operational costs
Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis aligned with business goals
Monitor daily cash flow and prepare liquidity forecasts
Recommend strategies to mitigate cash shortfalls
Strengthen internal controls and streamline reporting processes
Liaise with external stakeholders (banks, auditors, vendors, consultants)
Support ad-hoc financial projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
CPA or equivalent certification
highly preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management within
F&B or retail hospitality
Strong skills in financial modeling, budgeting, and variance analysis
Familiarity with systems like QuickBooks, TOAST, MarginEdge, Tripleseat is a plus
Excellent communication skills; able to present financial insights clearly
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
