Convert internal leads generated by the Bank into mortgage loans by providing timely and professional communication, assessing borrower needs, and guiding them through the loan process. Originating mortgage loans for the Bank’s employees. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with past customers and their network of professionals. Create rapport and trust with customers and referring partners. Counsel with customers to identify mortgage loan needs and options. Assist in the processing and closing of loans in a professional manner that is profitable to the bank and creates customer loyalty. Accurately complete and deliver initial disclosures. Take complete, accurate, and compliant loan applications. Order credit reports and resolve discrepancies. Input loan information into computer systems. Utilize Automated Underwriting Systems for decisioning loans. Order appraisals. Cross-sell Bank products to customers. Proactively communicate loan status and progress to the customer. Analyze property appraisals for Investor compliance. Travel on Bank business. Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of essential job functions. Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work. Follow Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of lending criteria/business needs, lending systems, and regulatory/investor lending guidelines Knowledge of loan origination needs and milestones (origination, processing, underwriting, closing, products, vendor interfaces) Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Ability to work without close supervision Demonstrate effective critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with exacting deadlines Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Maintain strict confidentiality and bank secrecy Demonstrate effective customer service skills Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Basic Qualifications
Associate’s degree or commensurate work experience and two years of residential mortgage or banking experience, OR high school diploma and three years of residential mortgage or banking experience, required. NMLS or successful completion of NMLS process within 45 days of hire, required. Experience working in Encompass, preferred Job Expectations
